My comic life so far...
14th-Aug-2008 11:00 am
So after dragging my feet, I have finally updated and posted all of my comic-strip series so far, as they have appeared the Halifax, Nova Scotia's alt-weekly The Coast. And now here they all are.

This was a chronicling of a road trip taken in late 2006 from Halifax to Houston. My girlfriend at the time, Jodi, is from Texas - we drove down for Christmas.

This was my follow-up, the idea being that I take the kind of stories that you hear at parties or in casual conversation and translate them. People (sometimes total strangers) send their stories to an email address - truestorycoast@gmail.com - and I pick from those. The response has been really positive, and I could keep this up for a while.

My first series - it started in June 2006. As I said in a post at the time, my proposal for a comic-strip soap opera (like Mary Worth or Rex Morgan M.D.) was rejected, so I came up with this in an hour (I was out the door for a vacation and they needed three strips right away!). It's all right, but I really wish I had a more solid idea before diving in. It's pretty cringe-worthy sometimes. And now you can judge me based on it!
